F.X. Scully loves romance, but she doesn't write your typical Happily Ever After. Because let's face it, in the real world, it can sometimes take a lot of angst and pain before you get there. And some of us never do. But since most of us pick up books to escape the real world, her stories don't lack hot boyfriends and sexy encounters. Neither will she leave you completely heart broken, sobbing into a tub of ice cream. Rest assured you'll be on a roller coaster, but you'll be glad you went along for the ride.

Black Rose centers around Luke Black and Cocanda Rose, or Coco, 6 years after the last book. Luke has it pretty rough after getting out prison, no job, no family, and a very ill mother. Coco an entertainment lawyer and long-time girlfriend of drummer Dash, feels she is giving more in her relationship then Dash, but she loves him. The drama that surrounds their relationship starts to become to much for her.
Luke and Coco have been friends and neighbors throughout their lives, there has always been an attraction between them but always something getting in the way. Throughout the story the two become close again and start to rely on each other to overcome the problems in their lives. Luke needs Coco to help with his mother and Coco needs Luke's help to try and figure out if Dash is really the one for her. But has it been too much time and hurt for the two to act on their attraction for each other or can true love really win all?
I have come to fall in love with all the characters in this series. They each have their own quirks that make you feel what they are feeling. This whole series is the first series I have read in a long time where it's not just about getting your happily ever after, but what is real! I can't wait to see what comes next in the series and here is to hoping everyone gets their happy ending!
